Submersible pumps are mainly composed of components such as motors, impellers, and pump casings. Their working principle is based on centrifugal force and pressure difference. The specific process is as follows:
Power drive
The motor, as the power source, operates after being connected to the power supply, converting electrical energy into mechanical energy and driving the impeller inside the pump to rotate at high speed. For instance, in scenarios such as oil extraction in oil fields or oil transportation at gas stations, when the motor is powered on and starts, it provides the initial power for the operation of the entire pump.
Liquid inhalation

When the impeller rotates at high speed, a negative pressure is formed in the central area of the pump cavity (the pressure is lower than that outside). Under the action of pressure difference, external liquids (such as crude oil in underground oil layers, oil products in oil storage tanks, etc.) are drawn into the pump chamber along the pipeline. Just like drinking a drink through a straw, when the pressure inside the straw decreases, the drink is sucked up.
Liquid pressurization and push
Centrifugal force effect: The liquid entering the pump chamber rotates at high speed along with the impeller. Under the action of centrifugal force, the liquid is thrown towards the edge of the impeller, and its speed and pressure increase.
Pressure increase: During the flow of the liquid in the channel within the pump casing, part of its kinetic energy is converted into pressure energy, causing the pressure to rise further and form high-pressure liquid.
Liquid discharge
High-pressure liquid is conveyed to the target container (such as ground oil tanks, fuel dispensers, etc.) through the outlet pipe of the pump. On some oil delivery platforms, submersible pumps will transport oil products to oil tankers, ships and other transportation vehicles.
In addition, to ensure stable operation and safety, submersible pumps are often equipped with safety valves, flow control valves, etc. When the system pressure exceeds the set value, the safety valve opens to release the pressure. The flow control valve regulates the liquid flow as needed.
